Spanish Point

Spanish Point is a village in the parish of Miltown Malbay, so named because of the Spaniards who died in 1558, when many ships of the Spanish Armada were wrecked during stormy weather.

Spanish Point lies to the west of Milltown Malbay on the road from Quilty to Lahinch and is well regarded as one of the finest strands of beach in West Clare.

With its exposed reef and point break, it’s highly regarded as a great place to surf at any time of the year.

Red Cliff Lodge and Spanish Point offer a great base from which to explore the many attractions of the region. Ideally located approximately midway between the renowned Cliffs of Moher and Loop Head Lighthouse.
